Trainings and Workshops
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based therapy aimed at increasing one’s psychological flexibility and improving their quality of life. Linda ten Barge is specialised in ACT for autism and shares her extensive knowledge and expertise with other care providers through the training, presentations and workshops she offers.
The training is specifically aimed at applying the principles of ACT to young adults with autism. It focuses on, among other things, understanding the core concepts of ACT, how these can be applied to people with autism, and developing concrete interventions to increase psychological flexibility in people with autism. The training is based on an interactive approach where, in addition to theory, attention is given to sharing practical examples and case studies to illustrate the key concepts and skills.
Linda ten Barge’s ACT training is suitable for mental health care providers who work with (young) adults with autism, such as psychologists, educational therapists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other professionals in mental health care. If you are a care professional with some experience with ACT, then the 3-day training is best suited to you. If you are a care professional with no experience with ACT, then the 5-day training is better suited to you as it includes a basic ACT training.
Feel free to contact us if you would like more information about our training as well our workplace (in-company) training possibilities.

Mindfulness is a scientifically-proven method that was created to increase attention and awareness in the here and now. Its primary aim is to reduce stress and anxiety while increasing mental resilience.
This individual mindfulness training is specifically aimed at people with autism and focuses on helping them to develop skills to deal with stimuli and stressful situations to ultimately create more peace of mind. This mindfulness training is suitable for (young) adults with autism who are interested in learning how to apply mindfulness in their daily lives. This individual training is given from the book “Mindfulness in Adults with Autism” by
Annelies Spek, and has been adapted to the specific needs and capabilities of people with autism (use of language, pace, practical examples).
This individual mindfulness training is given in the form of one-hour sessions during which attention is given to practising and applying mindfulness in daily life. The aim of these sessions is to help people with autism to learn how to worry less and to let go of thoughts. In this one-on-one training there is always room for them to ask questions and to discuss their personal experiences.

Mindfulness training helps increase your ability to focus your attention on the here and now and become more fully present and aware of your experience in the moment. With this training you will learn to make conscious choices instead of automatically responding.
This is a practical mindfulness training suitable for almost everyone, and consists of 8 meetings lasting 2.5 hours, plus one full day.
